Today (Thursday) kicks off the 40 days of prayer focus at Indian Creek. We will pray one prayer for 40 days running up to Good Friday. On that day we will celebrate what God has done in answer to our prayers.
Recently we’ve been filling multiple orders for The Path to Power discipleship study (The Path to Power). I wrote the book with Jim Davey over 20 years ago. What I never could have predicted was that Sam Stevens, the President of the India Gospel League, would like it so well he made it a required study for his church plants of which there have been 80,000. Not only the planter but those they lead to Christ receive the Path to Power.
Friday morning at 6 a.m. wouldn’t be the time that you would think would be attractive to men for spiritual growth but last Friday morning there were 40 men in the cafe at Indian Creek Olathe. Most were there to start a study called Men’s Fraternity.
I had to laugh and give God praise when I read this. He is Good! Greetings Gary!
It was exciting today to hear that 3 of the students in our LEP accepted Christ this last Tuesday. It is a voluntary after school program. Parents give their children the opportunity to learn and grow through the arts, character development, martial arts, recreation and faith building.
You may not realize the strategic timely-ness of sending ten per-cent of Creekers on a mission trip the next five years. Yes, it will be good for us at Indian Creek but it is also a part of fulfilling the Great Commission. This is not just about what would happen in us but also about what would happen through us.
Sunday I shared vision for Indian Creek’s next 5 years. In this message I challenged 75 persons to go for a cross-cultural immersion experience each of the next 5 years until half of our average weekly adult population has been actively a part of fulfilling the Great Commission. And the other 90% who don’t go on a given year will help send.
A mission trip might be a growth producing catalyst for you. I’m confident if you let God stretch you outside your comfort zone to where you have to be absolutely dependent on Him it would leave you changed forever! Changed for the good! I’d like to see 75 Creekers (about 10% of our average adult Sunday attendance) participate in a cross cultural mission experience in the next year and I’d like the rest of us to help send them.
