We sent a Live Out team from Indian Creek this last Friday. Here is Jenna Gaeddert’s report: I wanted to provide a quick report on the situation from OKC. Crossings, Fresh Start COG, and Shartel have networked well to provide assistance to their families and to their community.
We are mobilizing prayer for three Live Out projects that are in motion. You can join others in the Indian Creek Olathe prayer room at 7 a.m., Noon and 6 p.m. for the next two weeks.

Nearly two years ago our Mayor, Michael Copeland, asked me to lead the process for developing an Olathe Latino Coalition. The first thing I did was to start to network with people who knew more about this than me.From those early efforts Tom Bassford, Significant Matters, surfaced and eventually Hector Silva who now leads the task force. I’m truly grateful for the team that has developed and it gives me hope that Olathe can be a Latino friendly city regardless of naturalization status.
We’ve been working through a process at Indian Creek called Church Unique. It is designed to assist us in determining or affirming our mission, vision, values, marks (measures) and strategy. This has been a healthy and encouraging exercise for a group of staff and lay leaders.

I feel a little like the contestant in the Miss America Contest who looks at the camera, smiles shyly but sincerely and says, World Peace :) Yep! That’s it. Peace for the world through Jesus–that would do it!
